Production work

This was done on A3, then scanned over onto two A4 parts. I printed off the songs lyrics and went through looking at my  initial ideas and follow up ideas tried to make notes at specific parts of the song, especially where my characters would perform the narrative, as-live and live sequences in the music video.

This was done on A3, then scanned over onto two A4 parts. I did a mind map of my initial ideas and a timeline of my possible narrative, as-live and live sequences in the music video.

Conventions Of A Music Video

On the 15th of November in our media lesson Ms Flavell asked us to find a video that we believed was similar to the intentions of our own music video. The song is called ‘F**k You’ (FY) by Cee Lo Green, the video has many conventions typical of a real music video. It has a mix between as live and narrative, we see this in many videos because it keeps viewers interested and entertained. This video has clear correlation to my production (She Said - Plan B) because it is a song about love, love lost and the consequences of actions.

A convention seen in many music videos is emotions, to convey a certain feeling that is presented throughout the video. FY works incredibly well to develop a storyline of emotions in the video. The lyrics are heart felt and the story through time is developed, I am to develop my own music video in the same way by developing a story, making sure the characters correspond with my target audience and the emotional aspect of a music video of this genre.

Another convention of music videos is the use of locations, in the FY video the cafe is the setting for a majority of the music video, it shows different situations taking place and the characters miming to the lyrics.
